Troye Sivan and his mother celebrate the abolition of gay panic defence
- Troye Sivan and his mother, Laurelle, have thanked the Reverend for his progressive efforts against an outdated law.
The discriminative defence allowed criminals to have their sentence reduced by claiming the victim made a pass at them.
In a video aimed towards Rev. Kelly, Troye calls the law “homophobic” and thanks Rev. Kelly for “preventing killers from thinking it’s okay to kill gay men for making a pass at them or flirting with them”.
