Stark protection rates for indigenous kids
- Almost 50,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children received protection during the year - a rate of 164.3 per 1000 kids - according to an Australian Health of Welfare report released on Friday. Rates among indigenous children were disproportionately high across all states and territories.
