Aboriginal activists step up campaign against Australia Day
- Monuments to Captain Cook and other British explorers have been defaced in Melbourne as Aboriginal activists ramp up their opposition to Australia's national day. A statue of James Cook was covered in pink paint with the words “no pride” painted beneath his feet alongside the Aboriginal flag.
