Qld election non-voter's fine dropped over Aboriginal religious belief - Electoral commissioner Walter van der Merwe in a letter dated 5 November responded saying “as a result of the information provided, the Electoral Commission of Queensland withdraws from acting under the State Penalties Enforcement Act 1999 in relation to the alleged offence”.
