Aboriginal political trailblazer Eric Deeral dies aged 79
In the 1970s, under the Bjelke-Petersen government, Mr Deeral became only the second Aborigine elected to an Australian
parliament - after fellow Queenslander Neville Bonner was elected a
senator in 1969 - and the first elected to a State Parliament.
